A walk on the paths through the wetlands provides rewarding views of some of the peninsulas indigenous flora and fauna. A short walk of about 1km circuit should take about 15 minutes. It is best to park at the Crunchies carpark and access the wetlands path to the south of the playground. There are a number of water birds using the wetlands such as ducks, White faced Herons, Ibis, Cormorants and others. Also a number of different species of frogs are in residence and can make quite a racket during the wet weather. Many wetland plants are growing here consisting of a number of species of rushes, sedges, grasses and lilies. Due to nesting birds, dogs are not permitted in the wetlands.
